Jeff Erlanger, who appeared on Mister Rogers Neighborhood in 1981, surprises Fred Rogers at a TV Hall Of Fame ceremony. I grew up watching Mr. Rogers in the 60’s and 70’s, his lessons were simple, but always blanketed in kindness. I urge you to watch this video in it’s entirety, and challenge you not to shed a tear while remembering when life was so much simpler back then.
The ceremony starts at 5:35, where Mr. Rogers really speaks from the heart. This is really just a GREAT video honoring a GREAT man, who we grew to call neighbor.
Jeff Erlanger passed away in 2007. Although he went on to become active in politics, he will always be remembered as the little boy who taught other children that it’s ok to be different than others.
