I grew up listening to Patsy Cline through my parents, and think she had one of the greatest voices I’ve ever heard. In spite of her untimely death in a tragic plane crash on March 5, 1963, her beautiful songs will live on forever. Cline only recorded two #1 hit songs in her career, but her reputation actually rose rapidly after her death.
The video below is a recording of her last performance singing her hit song “I Fall To Pieces” which was recorded on February 23, 1963 on The Glenn Reeves Show, around 10 days before she died. The song’s success helped Cline secure a spot as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The hit song also topped Billboard’s year-end survey of country hits.
